It turns out there are plenty of Vancouver reviewers who are pretty happy about the soul savin’ they’ve had at the hands of the Altar Boyz!!
Hilarious, self-aware and clever, Altar Boyz was an hour and half of saccharine sweet ballads and songs with pop sensibilities that will certainly “alter your mind.”
The Altar Boyz are in town saving souls and serving up a fun (and funny) summertime treat at the Arts Club Granville Island Stage.
This respectable ratpack is so tight in its singing, with brilliant back-up by a four-man band, that every blessed note reaches us with ringing purity. Add the amazing choreography of Sara-Jeanne Hosie, who has her team accurately capturing – and exaggerating to hilarious effect – every dance move ‘N Sync or NKOTB ever tried to pull off, and Altar Boyz totally rocks the pop world.
